Ruth’s Place is collaborating with Moncrief Cancer Institute and Texas Health Resources to bring fully funded mammograms to women without insurance. The Breast Care Program is aided by a nearly $1 million grant from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) to help reach uninsured women in Hood, Parker, Johnson, Denton and Wise counties, an area which has one of the highest rates of breast cancer in the state. “Women who take part in this breast screening program should be assured that we will facilitate complete patient navigation for anyone who needs any form of testing or treatment beyond the initial exam,” said Dr. Keith Argenbright, Medical Director at Fort Worth’s Moncrief Cancer Institute.
